Upon retirement from a long and successful business career, Allan Fuller has turned his career focus solely on musical matters. In addition to a growing number of private piano students, Fuller joined the piano faculty at LaSalle College of the Arts, Singapore. He maintains a limited solo recital schedule, in the U.S., Austria, and Singapore.

While persistently passionate and active as a concert pianist, Fuller simultaneously pursued his piano career alongside his successful career in the U.S. Gaming industry. Music, for the duration of his 30 year gaming career, music was both a personal / spiritual outlet and philanthropic community effort. The majority of his performances were in support of worthy charitable causes within his communities. He learned the gaming business from the ground floor, starting as a table games dealer and solidly advancing through the ranks. He served lengthy executive terms for both Caesar's Entertainment (Harrah's) and John Ascuaga's Nugget in Reno, Nevada.

Fuller enjoys living in Singapore with his wife Anne an Executive for Marina Bay Sands.

Musical Biography

Allan Fuller was born in Washington State in 1955.

Education

Allan began studying piano at age seven with his mother, the late Georgette Fuller. He finished preparatory studies with the late Stella Knoebel in Wenatchee, Washington. Subsequently he completed both Bachelor and Masters Degrees in piano performance, studying with:

Margaret Ott at Whitworth College.

Victor Steinhart at the University of Oregon.

Dr. Bonalyn Smith at Central Washington University.

William Corbett-Jones, Professor Emeritus at San Francisco State University.

Fuller's awards include:

Distinctions at the Spokane Music Festival

Third place in the Music Teachers National Association competition in 1977

Semi-finalist in the second International Piano Competition for Outstanding Amateurs, 2000.

Fuller was selected to compete among 100 international pianists in the International Piano Competition for Outstanding Amateurs under the sponsorship of the Van Cliburn Foundation in both 1999 and 2000. In conjunction with the competition, his pianism and professional occupations were profiled on "Good Morning America."

Current Work

His European debut commenced in November of 2000, and he has continued to present well-received recitals in Vienna and the U.S.

While possessing a wide-ranging repertoire from Bach to Mompou, Fuller finds his inner spirit with the works of the Viennese Classical Era as well as Chopin and Schumann. Reviews cite his playing as "beautifully dispensed, exciting presentations with articulately voiced treble passages."

While foremost a solo recitalist, he has served as a private piano teacher, piano instructor at the University of Nevada-Reno, competition judge, concerto soloist, chamber musician and pre-concert lecturer for the Singapore Symphony Orchestra. In addition to solo recitals, Allan and his brother Richard perform four-hand piano works in the U.S. and Austria. He is in his eighth year of teaching at LaSalle College of the Arts, Singapore.
